Hey Alexander
love your work by the way.
my name is John k. and
sorry to bother you with a simple question.
i was wondering how to make high quality wooden floors?
Would you be able to make a simple tutorial, or please explain to me how are they made (if its not too mush to ask)
I have seen images with photo realistic floors, but when i ask none is able to explain nor teach me how is done, and dose who do try don’t make any sense. sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi,
Well if you want to have really good textures…seamless and high resolution
take a look here http://www.ronenbekerman.com/making-of-3d-render-hover-lake-house-by-benjamin-brosdau/
In order to make good wood VRay material (shader) you need to have 3 different maps of the same wood..
Diffuse, Reflection (specular map) and Bump. all really high resolution.
see this making of http://www.evermotion.org/tutorials/show/7952/making-of-story-for-bedroom-concept-by-alfa-smyrna

Good Day Mr. Alex;
I find your blog website very entertaining and informative. I wish you can make a tutorial about making exterior vray scene setups such as sunsets, sunrise, winter, night scenes, tropical ambiance, rain scenes etc etc. From 3dsmax vray scene to photoshop post productions. If this will be on your video tutorials dvd, even though I’m broke, I will buy it in a heartbeat.

I’ll be very much thankful to you if you can make tutorial for me and if possible then a Free scene also. As i student i can not afford to subscribe for Premium but in future i’ll surely opt for that.
Thank you.
- Amit Chippa.
Hi Alex,
May i please request you a tutorial to texture any furniture, example: a seater or a sofa which has curved surfaces. I am stuck up always when I am texturing these kind of models. Also, my kind request is to use some kind of floral textures and not the plain textures like leather where its hard to see the stretching.
Thank you for all your dedications
Regards,
Javed

Hi Alex,
I have a quick question about the AO tutorial of yours that I’m watching right now. My question is does the lighting setup in my scene effect the AO? i need to have the lighting for my both the renders? WHat i wanna know is i will render both of my scenes with the lighting on?
is AO used to cut down the render times? or is it an additional realism to the normal renders?
Hi, my name is Alex and i wrote from Monza (Milan,Italy).
My job is principally architectural visualization and I use 3ds max 2012 and vray 2 (my english is very bad, sorry!)…I also use PS and AE for post production.

How con I buy it? Is it only fr download or other?
Is it possible to order it by mail?

please, what is the best way for me studing with you and ask some few questions.. like your charges and exactly the way, like, you know.. skype, email, msn…
here is my blog and facbeook.. i don’t have a website yet because until know i just don’t needed one.. I just post my works in the blog and facebook for know..
can you give a quickly look? but it’s all old stuff..after watching your teachings I made a scene and I liked but it is rendering know and taking hours and hours to finish…..

hi alex. im saeed from iran.thank you for your vidio about IES lights ,i want to khnow how can i control power of fotometric lights brightnes in IES?
Hi..
i am Pradeep Majhi from India, the tutorials really helped out to my working ability with 3ds max…..
I have a very little confusion between IK and FK in boning system in 3ds max…………
would help me on ………..
Hi Alex! i found your site when i was trying to use IES preset lights on youtube, your videos are very useful. Thanks. Now i got another problem using materials and v-ray. I’m working on a scene in my job, is a building located in Mexico. The problem is I can’t render the glass in the building because it appears a strange line in windows, it changes shades of blue glass and is difficult to remove with the application of materials, place another light, even importing back the layer of glass to my file. if you can give me some advice I’d appreciate infinitely, not how to solve this problem. If necessary you facilitated the image to know my problem. If you have a tutorial on your site that also help me appreciate it. My best regards. Sorry for my english, I’m Mexican
I not to mention my pals appeared to be viewing the great points found on the blog and so before long I had a terrible feeling I had not thanked the site owner for those strategies. All of the young men came as a consequence joyful to read through them and have now definitely been using them. Thanks for truly being quite kind as well as for picking some helpful guides most people are really wanting to learn about. Our own honest apologies for not expressing gratitude to sooner.
hi alex
Alex, I’m living in Iran and i can not buy your training.
Is there any way that I’m able to provide this training?
Thanks
Many thanks you an excellent offer for this great and seriously beneficial report. Anybody might get superb info from this quick short article.fantastic get the work finished preserve it up. I am going to bookmark this web-site for arrived once more in foreseeable future.
Hi Alex.
I’ve been self learning 3ds max and v-ray for the last 4 years. I watched your webinars – great work. I have an odd question. I use Linux as my second operating system, because it has many advantages over Windows.
I am also a webdesigner and i use LAMP server (apache+PHP+MySQL).
I was wondering is there any way to use 3ds max in Linux. I know that there is no official version, and it could be installed with bugs with wine. I don’t want to waste years to learn Blender, so am I stuck with windows for 3d graphics? Do you know anybody that is using Linux and 3ds max?
Thanks in advance.
Interesting approach must say
Never herd about max on Linux.
I can suggest you to have one working station that runs on Windows and not connected to the internet.
All the the windows problems are coming from the internet – so just avoid using it on that station.
Alex
Thanks Alex.
The problems with Windows don’t come only from the Internet. I’ve studied Operating systems and core functions. Linux implements real parallel computing, and Windows only simulates one by using hyper-threading and constantly changing focus.
Linux is faster and performs better. I’ve tested the same machine with Ubuntu 11.04 x64 and Windows 7 Pro x64 it is 20% faster in some tasks under Ubuntu, also there is the issue of security. Linux has better file ownership and rights for files and it’s structure makes viruses pointless. There is no virus under Linux, because of its architecture.
Of course there is the issue of DirectX vs OpenGL.
But I don’t want to start Windows vs Linux discussion. I’ve chosen for myself. I’ll probably install Win for 3ds Max and V-ray on my desktop and Ubuntu on my Laptop.
Sorry for the long post Alex, but I have one more question.
I am from Bulgaria, and as you know V-ray is a Bulgarian company. The organize certificate test and courses. I wonder do I need to take a certificate or a course. In the professional scene does it matter or people only want to see what you can do and don”t care about diplomas and certificates? I think it may be useful for job interviews and such.
Hello Alex, I’ve been facing problem with vray shadow in my scene. which is too dark in density..please suggest any tips or idea to control the darkness of shadow…btw i have enabled gamma(2.2) and added vray physical camera in my scene.
thanx in advance for ur kind suggestion…!!!
Regards
Goldy
color mapping: exponential – > gamma 2.2 – you will not get dark shadows
Thanks for your reply but i already working with exponential(color mapping)…any other tip you can suggest please???
thanks again
